Owner of Home+Scapes Design, a business born from a lifelong passion for home and garden from watching my dad grow gardens and build homes and my mom run her real estate company.
These experiences led to a 28-year real estate career in Charleston, with my fondest years selling in the award-winning neighborhood of I’On. There I discovered an appreciation for timeless architecture, classic interiors and graceful gardens that seamlessly extended interior living to cozy outdoor rooms.
Helping people love where they live has been my joy and my life's work.
During the global pandemic of 2020, I started a part-time job at local garden center and immersed myself in the study of horticulture and design. Recognizing the interconnection of real estate and landscape, I followed the nudge to keep growing and expand my business to the outdoors. January 2022, Home+Scapes Design, LLC was rooted.
I enjoy blending inspiration and intuition to discover the potential in blank, dated or overgrown spaces. It excites me to help clients infuse their personality and extend their living space into the outdoors. I have a strong fondness to old things with character, and I enjoy entwining them into designs.
I live in Charleston with my mini labradoodle and digging partner, Paisley, in a mid-century home I renovated in 2018. My home and garden are a haven to unplug and recharge, my playground for creativity, my work in progress. It’s the smallest, yet most special. Mostly because I am consciously and slowly re-designing them to be true to me.
We admire beautiful spaces with rhythm and repetition.
We embrace clean, organized, lush design.
We are drawn to symmetry, yet intrigued with imperfection.
We appreciate aged patina, organic and textural components, a touch of modern, a little European and a lot of Lowcountry.
We love unique architectural elements—furniture, fountains, planters, statues, sundials —to sprinkle a bit of personality to spaces.
We prefer lush greens, texture and contrast over bold color.
We enjoy the sound of water, wind chimes, leaves blowing in the wind and crunching gravel underfoot.
And the smell of rosemary, citrus, gardenias, and jasmine.
We embrace our lowcountry roots of palms and grasses that balance southern plantings of camellias, hydrangeas, magnolias and azaleas.
We are fond of attracting wildlife into our gardens and of incorporating native plants that thrive in our hot, humid summers.
We are smitten with comfy seating, long dining tables, gurgling fountains, roaring fires and flaming grills.
